My first thought, upon deciding to write a blog post on the East African Food Crisis, was to dig around for facts and figures which I could then present and use to appeal to potential donors. But everyone has seen the numbers already – 12 million famine-stricken people fighting for their lives, 640,000 of which are small children in Somalia – and seeing them one more time will hardly flip a switch in anyone’s head, right?
