A Message from Misha and Cinde
Since our humble beginnings in 2009, we have seen Random Acts grow substantially. Like all newly formed organizations, a great deal of effort, time, and resources have been required to put in place the structure to manage growth at such a significant rate year over year. We are not quite halfway through 2012 and yet it has already been an exciting and successful year and we wanted to take a moment to thank you, our supporters, for making Random Acts what it is today.
Since late 2011 we have substantially increased the number of staff positions, had a change in leadership, and are proud to state that our entire organization is now 100% volunteer-run. Hope 2 Haiti, Annual Melee of Kindness (AMOK), and Semi-Annual Awards for Random Acts (SAARA) are just a few of the projects that you may already be familiar with. Due to your recognition of our social media efforts, Random Acts won the prestigious Shorty Award in the Charity category. We have also launched a new logo, new branding, and offered a sneak peak at our soon to be launched, much improved website. We have already sponsored more random acts in the first six months of this year than we had to-date and we're looking forward to supporting many more before year's end. As well as this, through our SAARA project, we have committed $5000 to other non-profit organizations on behalf of the winners. Through our Hope 2 Haiti campaign, you have joined with us and raised a phenomenal amount of money. These funds will be used to significantly change the lives of children in Jacmel, Haiti with the expected 2012 completion of the Jacmel Children's Center, along with the programs of the Art Creation Foundation for Children (ACFFC) and several other local community, children, and health-focused organizations.
Along with our new staff, new look, and renewed focus, we want to re-emphasize our commitment to being fully transparent. That is why we are partnering with non-profit watchdog agencies like Guidestar, and we want you to feel empowered to contact us with any questions you may have about the activities of our organization or our fiscal responsibility. When our new website is completed we will have a section dedicated to this information as well.
Words cannot adequately express how appreciative we are of your commitment to Random Acts, and we are so grateful that you are partnering with us to conquer the world, one random act of kindness at a time.
